These are the qualifications and criteria that aspiring individuals need to meet in order to be eligible for admission to the Institute of Finance Management (IFM)/Chuo Cha Uhasibu for accounting-related programs in the academic year 2023/2024. These requirements typically outline the educational background, subjects, and sometimes additional conditions that individuals must fulfill to embark on a successful academic journey in the field of accounting and finance at IFM.

Applicants with Advanced Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (ACSEE):

Applicants who completed graduated Advanced level before 2014 and from 2016, must have two principal passes with a total of 4.0 points from Two Subjects defining the admission into the respective program (where A = 5; B = 4; C= 3; D = 2; E = 1)

A pass in Mathematics in form six is required for admission to the Bachelor of Accounting, Bachelor of Banking and Finance, and Bachelor of Taxation. Those who do not have a principal pass or a subsidiary pass in Mathematics must have an O’ level of credit.

Applicants for the Bachelor of Science in Economics and Finance (BEF): must have a pass in Advanced Mathematics, BAM, Accounts, or Economics, or a Credit pass at O’level. Physics and Mathematics passes are required for a bachelor’s degree in computer science.

The two passes in scientific subjects are required for the Bachelor of Information Technology (BIT) (i.e. either Physics, Adv. Mathematics, or Chemistry).

Applicants with Ordinary Diploma or (Equivalent Qualifications):

Applicants must have at least five passes at the Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (Form Four) including Mathematics and English and at least a Grade Point Average (GPA) of 3.0 at NTA −Level 6 (Ordinary diploma).

The study leading into NTA 6 should be conducted in at least three years (ie NTA 4, NTA 5, and NTA 6 or equivalent)for Form four leavers OR two years (NTA 5 and NTA 6 or equivalent) for form six leavers with pass and a subsidiary results which qualifying the applicant for direct entry into IFM diploma.

All applicants to Ordinary diploma programs must have completed a Basic Technician Certificate (NTA 4) or equivalent. Furthermore, they must meet all requirements for admission to the IFM’s Basic Technician Certificate program (NTA 4).

For equivalent Qualifications, an applicant must have completed a one-year Basic Technician Certificate (NTA 4), and for direct entry, an applicant must have at least a principal pass and two subsidiary passes or more at the Advanced Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (applicable for results before 2014 and from 2023) An candidate must have at least a ‘D’ and two ‘Es’ for results in 2014 and 2023.

Entry Requirements into Basic Technician Certificate Programmes

Admission requirements for Basic Technician Certificate Programmes require applicants to present proof of having completed the Certificate of Secondary Education Examination with at least four passes. A ‘pass grade’ is any grade score equivalent to a ‘D’ or higher.
